First of all, I have nothing against dudes over 40. Most of the time, they have jobs and they actually want to pick you up and take you out on a date. They might even talk to you about how their daughter is a college graduate and has a successful career as a means to explain you won’t have to actually be a step mom.
Anyhow, today I visited my own blog to preview a post I was working on and was blasted in the face with this:
The guy IS kind of handsome but is this dude really the most attractive dude you could find to place in this advertisement? Is the fact that he is a Packers fan who apparently owns multiple electronics supposed to attract me to joining? And, I’m confused. I’m not in my 40s. Am I supposed to join it even if I’m not, but because I’m looking for that?
Am I supposed to be excited that he is a guy over 40 who doesn’t have a beer belly? Or that he appears to be so confident and relaxed? Is it an added bonus that he owns a large flat panel TV and connects his laptop to it with an HDMI cable?
This ad really only confirms for me that maybe I’m not interested in older guys. I’m 34 but I FEEL 24. That means I should be dating guys that are 25, not 40. Right?
My advice: Change your Google Ads Settings. I’m about to do that right now.
